Q: Why should I become a member?
A: The HPTA directly supports your child and can provide you with important information through its email communications.
Q: How does the HPTA support my child?
A: The HPTA brings enrichment programs into your child's classroom, coordinates afterschool extracurricular programs, lines up volunteers to help your child in the library art and computer room, runs parent programs (like the Kindergarten Ice Cream Social and "Beating the Homework Wars") and family fun events (like the Harlem Wizards, Chili Cook-Off, Mini Marathon and Carnival), just to name a few.
Your membership is extremely valuable to the HPTA. Not only do your membership dues help to support our programs, but joining shows that you support the HPTA in our efforts to enhance our children's educational experience. Since the 1993/1994 school year, the HPTA has budgeted $2.1 million to benefit all children in the school system.
